Compare the Numbers in Births in Eight Breeds!
Each year, horse owners register (report) the birth of the new foals. A foal is a baby horse. To register a foal, its owner must answer questions like these:
-What is its name?
-When was it born?
-Where was it born?
-What breed (kind) of horse is it?
-What color is it?
-What special markings does it have?
The following shows how many foals were registered for the eight breeds in 1988:
-15,000 - Appaloosa
-10,000 - Arabian
-5,000 - Morgan
-15,000 - Paint
-130,000 - American Quarter Horse
-20,000 - Standardbred
-10,000 - Tennessee Walking
-40,000 - Thoroughbred
